Madrone Swirl

Just finished my first piece using a madrone slice for the base.  My learning curve on how to finish the wood was pretty steep, and definitely still has a way to go, as well as learning to groove the wood instead of drilling holes.  Combining some bound weave techniques that I've developed on previous wall pieces with the madrone resulted in a pleasing first attempt.

Oh yes, I do foresee many more of these in my future as I learn to work with the wood.
